Yummy Sunday #3: Fish Soup or Tinuwang Isda

I had such a wonderful day today. We started our day by going to church this morning. I was excited to come to eat lunch for I wanted to cook the remaining fish that a good friend of mine brought the other night from their fishing trip. I thought it was so nice of her and her hubby to do such thing. They only caught four and she wanted to share it with me by giving me two. It is really nice to have a good friend nearby!

Anyway, these fishes were freshly caught from the creek. It was my very first time having a fresh fish that's never been frozen since I came here in America almost seven years ago. The first one I cooked by frying it in the pan, it was really, really good! I can tell the difference between the freshly caught and the ones that you can buy at the store. The second one I cooked today for lunch which is pictured above. It was a little chilly for me today, so I thought why not make a soup out of it to keep myself warm. So I made fish soup Filipino-style or what we call in Cebu "Tinuwang Isda". Oh gosh I just loved it. It's like I was eating my mama's tinuwa! Even my 5-year old son enjoyed it a lot...and of course it was paired with freshly cooked white rice!
